The MAMA board and special guests were hosted at the Mississippi Governor’s Mansion by the Mississippi Governor Phil Bryant and First Lady Deborah Bryant on Tuesday, March 3, 2015 as part of the 10th anniversary festivities, celebrating MAMA’s service to the automotive industry. Dave Boyer, 2015 MAMA president, accepted a resolution from the Gov. Bryant proclaiming March 2 – 7, 2015 as Automotive Manufacturing week in Mississippi.

Cars Under the Stars Reception and Member Meeting Recap


Ron Davis, executive director of the Alabama Automotive Manufacturers Association, is recognized during the membership meeting.

MAMA held its 4th annual Cars Under the Stars classic car show preview reception Friday, March 6, 2015 at the Mississippi Trade Mart. The preview reception was one of several events that took place during Automotive Manufacturing Week in Mississippi, commemorating MAMA’s 10 years of service to the automotive industry.

Mississippi Governor Phil Bryant was a special guest speaker. William Jeanes, former editor of Car and Driver magazine, was the keynote speaker after the MAMA business meeting.




During the event, MAMA awarded the Tom Phillips Memorial Scholarship. Dave Boyer, 2015 president, and Gene Delcomyn, 2015 treasurer of MAMA made a presentation to Gavin Hudgins. The $5,000 scholarship was a one-time award to a Miss. Classic Cruisers member’s child. Gavin was selected by a committee of the Miss. Classic Cruisers. Tom Phillips was instrumental in facilitating the partnership between MAMA and the Miss. Classic Cruisers, and creating the Cars Under the Stars event.

MAMA Celebrates 10 years of Service to the Automotive Industry

The Mississippi Automotive Manufacturers Association celebrates its 10 years of service to the automotive industry in 2015.

Events are planned the week of March 2 – 7, beginning with Governor Bryant and the House and Senate leaders proclamations and culminating with MAMA’s signature event Cars Under the Stars classic car show, which is open to the public.

Save the Date for the Cars Under the Stars preview party, a members-only event and membership meeting on Friday, March 6th.

Mississippi State University CAVS Extension hosts its 2015 Innovation Conference Wednesday, March 4th – 5th, at NISSAN – CANTON. Click here for more information.

2014 SAC Announces Pre-Conference Activities, organized by the Alabama Automotive Manufacturers Association

Interested in playing golf or exploring the local Birmingham breweries while in town for the Southern Automotive Conference (Oct 8-10)? Plan to arrive early and sign up for one of two exciting pre-conference activities, to be held on Wednesday, Oct. 8. SAC attendees can choose from the Birmingham Brewery Tour and a Golf Outing at the famous Robert Trent Jones Ross Bridge course. Golf Outing at Ross Bridge (Cost: $152)

Wednesday, Oct. 8

11 a.m. – 4 p.m.

If golf is your thing, experience 18 holes of the pristine, Robert Trent Jones Golf Trail as it winds its way through Birmingham. Ten holes play along the banks of two significant lakes, connected by a spectacular waterfall dropping 80 feet between the ninth and 18th greens; considerable elevation change combines with water and other natural obstructions to get your attention, and large putting surfaces provide many tempting pin locations that will test golfers’ approach shots.



  • Transportation will be provided from the hotel, to the course and back.
  • Tee times range from 11:20 a.m. to 12:10 p.m. Register with a group, or let us pair you up for maximum networking opportunity.
  • Please include any tee time or teammate preferences in the notes section of your registration form.
