PRINTABLES, INC. DONATION IN APPRECIATION AND RECOGNITION OF NISSAN

On January 25, 2016, Debra and Michael Gallaway of Printables, Inc., a full-service printing company located in Gluckstadt, Mississippi, generously donated $500.00 to the Mississippi Automotive Manufacturers Association Educational Foundation in appreciation and recognition of the impact that Nissan Canton has had on our community.

Debra and Michael Gallaway value the tremendous effect that Nissan has had on the economy of our state and wanted to show their gratitude by making a donation to support the students that have a focus in automotive manufacturing. Since 2006, the Mississippi Automotive Manufacturers Association has awarded over $150,000 in scholarships, through the Mississippi Automotive Manufacturers Educational Foundation, to students studying automotive-related fields at Mississippi’s community colleges and universities.

Recently Nissan North America celebrated the production of its 3-millionth vehicle at the Canton Vehicle Assembly Plant located in Canton, Mississippi. Nissan has grown the Canton Vehicle Assembly Plant from a regional manufacturing facility to a global one, investing $2.9 billion in the plant since its opening in 2003 and supporting more than 6,000 manufacturing jobs.

Growing a strong automotive workforce is essential to the health of the automotive industry in our state. Providing support and opportunity is one way MAMA and its members can secure its future workforce. SOUTHERN AUTOMOTIVE CONFERENCE

SOUTHERN AUTOMOTIVE CONFERENCE

MAMA Members attended the Tennessee Automotive Manufacturers Association (TAMA) 2015 Southern Automotive Conference (SAC), the region’s premier automotive tradeshow, Oct. 18-20 in the heart of downtown Nashville.  The Mississippi Automotive Manufacturers Association (MAMA) will host the event next year in Biloxi, Mississippi, October 5 – 7, 2016, at the Beau Rivage Resort.  The conference, in its ninth year in 2016, is projected to welcome more than 100 exhibitors and more than 800 attendees to the Mississippi Gulf Coast, easily making it the most exciting SAC to date.

MAMA is organizing the event alongside SAC partner organizations from Alabama, Tennessee, Georgia and South Carolina. The conference offers numerous networking opportunities, allowing attendees to interact face‐to‐face with potential clients and new business contacts from across the Southeast. Convening the SAC in one of the country’s most desirable coastal resort areas also allows attendees ample pre- and post-conference opportunities to socialize.  Our event’s dates will coincide with “America’s Largest Block Party,” Cruisin’ The Coast, a festival to celebrate antique, classic and hot rod vehicles, nostalgic music and related events.  Over 7,000 registered cars from car enthusiasts from 41 states plus Canada and Sweden drive to the Mississippi Gulf Coast once a year to showcase their rides and to cruise our beautiful 30-mile stretch of beachside highway.

Mississippi A Driving Source of Todays Automotive Success

The SAC provides a forum for top executives from original automotive manufacturers (OEMs) and major suppliers to showcase new product developments, collaborate on best practices and discuss strategies to strengthen the region’s burgeoning automotive industry. This year’s conference theme, “Success in the South: Yesterday’s Dream, Today’s Reality, Tomorrow’s Potential.  A New Legacy in Automotive,” represents how the southeastern United States is applying its traditional carmaking expertise towards the future of manufacturing.

Please see the link on this page to Register for the event.  We look forward to seeing everyone next year in Biloxi!

MAMA Dave Boyer Classic Golf Tournament

MAMA Dave Boyer Classic Golf Tournament

Thank you to all of our Sponsors, Participants and Companies that supported our tournament on September 10, at Lake Caroline Golf Club, Madison, Mississippi!

The success of our first ten tournaments has helped us build an endowment fund for our scholarship program to provide financial assistance to the best and brightest students in the automotive manufacturing fields, insuring the continuity of our program and to promote the automotive industry to young people in our state.

Since 2006, the Mississippi Automotive Manufacturers Association has awarded $143,000 in scholarships to students studying automotive-related fields at Mississippi’s community colleges and universities.  In 2014, MAMA established the Mississippi Automotive Manufacturers Educational Foundation to provide opportunities for raising more funds for scholarships. The Foundation, due to an increase in fundraising proceeds from MAMA, increased the scholarship program to three additional community colleges in northeast Mississippi this year, making the total amount awarded $27,000.

Thank you again for your support of our organization. We take great pride in Mississippi’s rapidly growing automotive manufacturing strength and our success is greatly dependent on support from you and our partnership companies!
